How To Get to Bali
One can catch either of the three daily flights from Manila to Singapore
with Singapore Airlines or Philippine Airlines and then connect to Denpasar
through Singapore Airlines, Garuda Indonesia or Bali Air which has several
flights everyday. On the average, prepare to spend around 150$ to 200$
a day for meals, local transport and activities.
Car rental with driver in Bali is highly negotiable. Most reliable though is
Bali Taxi (62-361-701111) which you can book upon arrival at the airport
(they have their prominent taxi/car rental desk counter). Suzuki Samurai
and 125cc motorbikes are the standard vehicles in the island.
Where To Stay
Prices quoted include a 21% tax and service charge that Indonesian Hoteliers
called the "plus-plus," clarify whether it is included when you negotiate rates.
Also, if a hotel offers you a rate in US Dollars, and you are paying by credit
card, make sure you ask what Rupiah conversion rate the hotel uses before
agreeing to the price. (credit card bills are charged in Rupiahs).

At Kuta Beach, the 200-room Hard Rock Cafe Hotel, costs US $150 a night,
including buffet breakfast. The Bali Hyatt in Sanur, (62-361) 281 234, is one
of the island's most attractive large resorts, sets in lush gardens on a private
beach, costs almost the same as the Hard Rock Hotel.

Those looking for international class hotels can stay in Nusa Dua, (Westin, Hotel
Nusa Dua, Club Med, Sol Melia, Sheraton Laguna, Grand Hyatt, Hilton and Hotel
Nikko) - although it's the longest distance from the interior villages and temples.
